Dear Conference Attendees ,
On behalf of the WQTC Planning Committee , welcome to Tacoma , Washington and to the 2021 Water Quality Technology Conference & Exposition .
We are so happy to have you all here , as we missed seeing each other in 2020 . For many of us , this is the first in-person conference we ’ ve attended in almost two years . Being with so many friends and colleagues might feel both exciting and also a bit unsettling , but our conference staff has worked hard to make this event both inviting and safe .
We ’ ve had to make some adjustments to our past conference format and adapt to ever-changing realities , but this year ’ s conference still features an outstanding three-day program with diverse technical sessions including over 100 presentations , spanning topics such as legionella , corrosion control , PFAS , and reuse . We invite you to join us to hear keynote speakers at the Opening General Session , as well as the AEESP lecture Monday afternoon . The WQTC Exhibit Hall also showcases 35 exhibitors that we hope you will explore .
Please take a moment to look through this program and find the sessions and Exhibit Hall events that will help you to make the most of your conference experience .
Thank you for attending this year ’ s WQTC , and for bringing your enthusiasm and expertise . Circumstances may necessitate a smaller conference this year , but we are confident that you will find the opportunities to visit with colleagues and share information and experiences as valuable as ever .

Welcome to Tacoma , the City of Destiny ! We hope you enjoy the next few days in our great city as you attend the 2021 Water Quality Technology Conference & Exposition ! Tacoma is a beautiful city , take a stroll over the Chihuly Bridge of Glass for amazing views of Mount Rainier and Commencement Bay . Tacoma is the third largest city in the Puget Sound region and is a playground for outdoor and maritime enthusiasts . Tacoma is very culturally diverse and packed full of rich art and history , check out one of our many museums . Make sure you stop in at some of the amazing small businesses and incredible restaurants while you ’ re here . We hope you enjoy your time here , and as we say , live like the mountain is out !
