Making Faces
W
hen a band enjoys the musical journey just as
much as the one they take audiences on, you
know they have something special happening.
Making Faces has been enjoying the journey all over
the world - they have had the honor of representing
the USA on a festival tour in China, have been
selected to play at the Vans Warped Tour – a wild
youth quake fest that features everything from
heavy metal to hard rock to reggae; they have
performed on the main stage of Sunfest, West Palm
Beach’s biggest music festival; and opened for top
notch bands BareNaked Ladies, The Original Wailers, Collie Buddz, Ballyhoo, Soul Asylum, Offspring,

Train, Passafire, Stick Figure, Less Than Jake, Reel
Big Fish, Vanilla Ice and more. They call their music by the gnarly name “ROGGUNK” which means
a fusion of rock, reggae, and funk, skipping through
genres, picking the best daisies from each and making a chain that drapes into a fragrant groove.
The band is John DeMatteo on vocals and
guitar, born in Buffalo, New York and raised in Coral
Springs, Florida. He went to the University of Florida
and majored in partying. His band bio says “He was
formerly his own worst enemy, and lived a shallow
