WPA Launches Pallet Supply Chain Initiative to Advance Industry Education
WPA has established the Pallet Supply Chain Initiative (TPSCI), a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designed to expand educational opportunities and support the long-term development of the pallet industry.
A 501(c)(3) is a tax-exempt charitable organization recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. According to the WPA, TPSCI will serve as the association's educational foundation, providing a vehicle to fund and develop programs that strengthen the industry. One of its initial priorities will be supporting the continued growth of Pallet University, while laying the groundwork for a broader range of educational initiatives.
The association explored outside funding for some of its educational efforts before deciding to establish its own nonprofit organization dedicated specifically to the pallet industry. By creating TPSCI, the WPA hopes to provide a sustainable platform for future educational programs and industry resources.
Looking beyond Pallet University, the initiative envisions supporting scholarships, industry research, white papers, case studies, reference guides, training materials and other resources that help educate current and future industry professionals.
Justin Hegsted, WPA President will also serve as president of TPSCI and will help guide the organization's strategic direction. WPA Executive Director Glenn Meeks is overseeing the initiative's administration and day-to-day development as the nonprofit moves from formation into operation.
Additional information about TPSCI, including its mission, programs and opportunities for industry participation, will be shared as the organization continues to develop.
