Helping the
carers
Emergency services’ special
Mecca’s nine FHD clubs put out a call to the emergency services to Come and
Play at Our House.
The special 999 event was a way of saying thank you to the police, fire and
rescue and ambulance services and those in the NHS for all their hard work
in keeping local communities safe.
On offer were a free bingo session, free drinks and a chance to unwind
from their demanding jobs. The event was coordinated by Neil Tams, Mecca
Beeston general manager, who said: “We recognise what a fantastic job these
people do for our community. Many of them put their lives at risk for us on
a daily basis and this was our way of saying thank you.”
