search for God’s presence. I feel like in my career that has been how it has helped me. How can I understand the God that is not just of California, but also the God of the world, and the universe! I get to know Him more through Latin America. [WM] Being raised in a bi-cultural home myself (my mother was Hispanic), I certainly applaud your commitment to learning the Spanish language. Your enunciation, nuance and speaking cadence are excellent, and your skill in transitioning between English and Spanish while leading worship is beyond compare. I’m certain that your efforts to this end encourage Hispanic worshipers to respect and embrace you even more because you’ve done “the work”. What are your thoughts on this? [Evan] First, thank you very much. I think I didn’t ever know that I would arrive at this point, I’m very happy that it came out of just wanting to serve. Without becoming too theological, one of the main teachings of the New Testament is Jesus bringing people back into community, and Pentecost is many people from different places understanding each other. I think on a small scale, that’s what I get to be a part of. And today you have two of the three most spoken languages in the world spoken in California, Texas, and Florida… and across the US. We get to be a part of seeing how the church counteracts with that. And so, it’s bound to happen. One of the things about here, being in the right place at the right time, it doesn’t speak that much of me. I’m very grateful for it. God is the one who puts that love and passion in my heart to serve the Spanish [Evan] Mi Casa L.A. is the unintended Valley. My music is growing. My influence is community, as well as loving the people where consequence of everything we have just talked growing. I wasn’t raised to just seek a self- I come from. Seeing the similarities and saying, about. My ministry has always been a fusion of centered path with my music and ministry. So, “We need to worship together, and we are all the things I love - music, ministry, and culture. I started talking with my Dad and we agreed made in the image and likeness of God”.
