of students interested in music. In formal
training, we have over 300 music majors
studying music education, music business,
performance, music and worship, and we
offer a general Bachelor of Arts degree
in music. All of these students engage in
private applied lessons on their instrument
or in voice, and study music theory, music
history and the full complement of discipline
specific courses.
All of our music ensembles (six touring,
nine resident ensembles, and a multitude of
chamber music opportunities) are open to all
students on campus. So, we have more than
600 students involved in music ensembles.
In addition to these formal opportunities,
Lee has a vibrant indie music scene. There
are many students writing, recording, and
performing original music in coffee shops and
music venues in Cleveland and Chattanooga.
For students specifically interested in worship
music, in addition to LeeU Worship, there are
three other bands that lead in our alternative
chapel expressions, and more pick-up bands
