Musician, thanks for joining us! sort of led me to the kind of music that I make. I reflective of most of the world, so you might as think my faith has always been something that’s well get used to living in it. It’s comfortable for [Mark Lettieri] Awesome, thank you, great kind of personal to me and my family, and I tend me. I wouldn’t do it if I felt like my faith was to be here! to kind of separate it from the music business ever jeopardized. And that goes for any of the aspect of things if I can. I’ve definitely been in groups that I play in. [WM] In addition to your work as a member of many musical situations where I’m the only guy Snarky Puppy and as a solo artist, you’re also who’s a Christian in a band of non-Christians, [WM] I would imagine you didn’t wake up one part of the band on Daystar’s Marcus and Joni and that’s okay it doesn’t bother me. In fact, I day and decide to start playing on Daystar, so show. Worship is obviously your wheelhouse, tend to appreciate that over being in a situation did you play on worship teams growing up, and but is not what you’re primarily known for. where everyone is like-minded, it can test my what role did that play in terms of developing What are some of the nuances to having a faith a little bit more, which can be good. your stylistic diversity? career as a believer that spans the worship and mainstream music worlds? I’m never going to denounce my faith or water it down in front of people who are not Christians [Mark] I think I just live it, you know what I just to fit in or something, that’s never what I mean? It’s not really something that I advertise, would do. In some groups I play in, some of for lack of a better word, but it’s not something my closest friends are the atheist guys. I’ve I hide either. Of course, I’m not ashamed of my never been in a situation where anyone has faith and never have been. I understand that in been overtly negative towards my faith, I think my ‘scene’ the artists I work with and music I do more often than not, people respect it. It’s good spans the secular genre and spans the Christian when you’re around adults who can kind of do [Mark] Yeah, I did play on some worship genre and I sort of just live in between there. I that (laughs). Snarky Puppy is pretty diverse teams. I was definitely pretty involved in my think maybe from a strictly musical standpoint as far as people’s faiths. There are Christians, church as a high school kid. My worship team my tastes are a little bit broader than the non-Christians, Agnostics, Atheists. It’s a was kind of interesting.
