Most of the album sits in the reflective state of slow to mid-tempo worship and the instrumentation and arrangement are nothing out of the ordinary, but the writing is sincere and well-crafted, for the most part. The melodies are memorable and most of these songs could be done by an average worship team. There are definitely some great songs here, and the central theme of the album is one that we all need to hear and to communicate. I am a huge fan of Iron Bell, not only because For Iron Bell front-man, Stephen McWhirter, there is no shortage of evidence of God's faithfulness in his life. The son of an evangelist, McWhirter found himself deep in the pit of crystal meth addiction, until one night his life was changed because of the Gospel, and he knew he was called to tell the world about God's amazing plan for him. It is a plan of redemption that God has for all of us, no matter how far away we think we are from His love. This is the central theme of Iron Bell's second full-length release, Glory to Glory, which features 11 new tracks of vertical worship as well as a few new arrangements of some of their church's favorite they blessed our church with some memorable worship last year, but because of the servant heart they exhibited both in person and on stage. Their songs are full of meaty spiritual truth, and are all well-crafted and delivered with passion. These guys have a huge heart for Christ, and it comes through on every track. McWhirter's raspy smoky tenor is the glue that holds the album together as he boldly announces the grace and love of Christ with reckless abandon on every track. Iron Bell makes their home in Louisville, Kentucky, and their southern rock infused worship will remind you of a modern Third Day or Chris Daughtry.
