Letting your budding songwriters have an audi- ence to come and play for and to test their new songs has its benefits. Having a place where some of the youth band musicians can come and play for the adults has its merits too. Invit- know (and you may know a few) back to the tal (no pun intended) in them feeling wanted, and it will demonstrate to them that their mu- sical gifts are appreciated. Maybe that will take some of the “dis” out of disenfranchised? I am sure you can structure it in a way that will offer a welcoming environment for the musi- cians in your church to stretch their creative wings.
