[WM] Daniel, you started off on acoustic, right? [Daniel Carson] Correct, yes, that was my first love obsession. In the beginning acoustic was my first love and the thing that I really kind of fell in love with. My dad played acoustic guitar, he always had acoustic guitars at the house, and he loved lots of acoustic music, and he led worship at out church on acoustic guitar, so I was around it a lot, it was just kind of a natural thing to be drawn to. In the nineties when I was learning there were a lot of acoustic bands and it was kind of popular, it was a good time for the acoustic guitar I would say. I was obsessed with learning as much as I could about that. There were bands doing different tunings, and cool chord shapes, and I was learning all sorts of things from them, whether it was worship artists, or Caedmon’s Call, or Dave Mathews Band, or any of those, James Taylor was a big influence, any of those acoustic guys I could get my hands on I was just trying to figure all of it out. Looking back one thing I really am thankful for is that I learned how to make the guitar speak as an instrument on its own, you know, which is what you learn when you first pick up an acoustic guitar.
