WORDS FROM THE EDITOR
MORE THAN I EXPECTED … It was our 8 th annual“ Night of Worship @ NAMM” concert in a large ballroom at the Anaheim Hilton Hotel. NAMM is a huge mainstream convention for music store retailers to see all of the new gear being released by manufacturers from literally around the world. The convention attracts over 106,000 people and 7,000 brands from 1,779 exhibitors. The opportunity to present a Night of Worship there is significant in itself … let alone that this was our 8 th year. After several high level advertising and editorial meetings during the day next door at the Anaheim Convention Center, I walked into the Pacific ballroom at the Hilton Hotel to see how the evening concert preparations were going( sound checks etc.). I heard that we already had 750 tickets spoken for on-line. That was the good news. The bad news was that the front man for our middle act that night had been stuck on the tarmac at the

Sacramento airport for 90 minutes. Oh no! He now was supposed to land in about 30 minutes at John Wayne International airport, get in a car and then drive through the Orange County traffic to the venue. I didn’ t like the sound of that, as the concert was supposed to start in about an hour.
Now, I have promoted over 100 Christian concerts in Washington and Oregon, and I have never started a concert without the artist / talent being in the building. This schedule was not sitting well with me. We took the pre-concert act, singer songwriter extraordinaire Bob Bennett, and moved him back 15 minutes to continued on 54
