all three pickups as well as each voice. It’ s best to wear headphones or playback through some studio monitors so you can hear the nuances between the systems and voices. Feel free to scrub back and forth so that you can compare them more closely.
After playing through each pickup, for my style of playing, I prefer the Nashville Legend. As described by Fishman, Voice 1( Acoustic Bliss) is forward, clear, and articulate while Voice 2( Picker’ s Heaven) is up-front, clear, round, and percussive. All three options are different, but I found them all useful and complimentary to the guitar. The key questions are … How do you plan to play your guitar? And how do you want it to sound?
I really did love the sound I was getting from the Spotlight as well. It was articulate and clear. I believe that the Rock Icon was appropriately named. I can really hear that acoustic tone blended with a heavier or electric sound. Fishman really broadened the scope of the acoustic guitar with these.
Now, what I’ m able to describe clearly is how incredibly easy it was to install and change these systems out. The actual curved pickup fits easily into a variety of sound hole sizes and clamps down on your guitar’ s top using two Phillips screws that control the clamps. If you don’ t already have a battery bag inside your guitar, mount the one that’ s included as close to the base of the neck as possible. This will place the battery close to the sound hole pickup. If you’ re changing out electronics like me, the strap jack hole is already prepared. But, if you have a new guitar or you’ ve not drilled a hole for the strap jack, I’ ve had great experience using a 1 / 2” step bit to get this done cleanly. We buy acoustic guitars for their feel, playability, and sound. If we don’ t take careful consideration in selecting the right electronics, then our investment won’ t serve us well in leading worship. Adding a pickup like the Fishman Fluence Acoustic can be done even without removing a previously installed system. This could be super helpful if you find that you’ re playing in different kinds of venues.
