REMINDING YOURSELF YOUR LIFE’ S MOTTO …
Of course, God’ s Word is the“ lamp to our feet and the light to our path,” so when I consider what I call“ my life’ s motto,” it definitely comes in second to that scripture. I have used my motto to self-motivate me. It is similar to when David, in the Old Testament, was said that he“ encouraged himself in the Lord.” That is how I use it, to encourage myself in my journey. Mostly in the sense of how it helps me with the“ live” production events I do.
I do like producing“ live” events. I woke up this morning with four of them on the horizon. faithful). Then one week after that is our Rose Quarter Guitar Show in Portland, OR. Another gathering of the Northwest guitar community. Then eleven weeks after that is our Pre-NAMM Hang“ Live Stream” event. The NAMM Show starts the next day, and we will launch our first ever“ Take a Stand for Worship,” where we will have worship teams lead worship twice a day on the mainstream NAMM Convention floor. Amazing! We will wrap NAMM with the Musicians Chapel— a gathering of believers to encourage one another in what we all do in the music community.
Oh, I guess now is a good time to tell you what that is. It is simple— don’ t overthink it. My motto is“ Half of life is showing up to see what the Lord has for you, but you have to show up!” It is a reminder to me that I need to do my part by showing up to do the work. It is a walk of faith. Which means you need to walk( move). Don’ t let fear or the sin of worry hold you back. Walk toward that horizon, even when you have things stacked up like airplanes landing at SeaTac airport here in the Northwest. When you put your trust in the Lord, it is a well-placed trust.
In two weeks, I have the Seattle-Tacoma Guitar Show in Kent, WA( 150 vendor tables chock-full of guitars and more … over 500 guitars will be offered up for sale there). Six weeks after that is our Christian Musician Summit conference in Tacoma, WA. The CMS is a training conference where each year we experience ministry moments and musical memories( God is
