And it was wonderful. And Donna Summer was there that night, and then she did a song that pointed to the Lord as a Christian woman. I just like to see the light shine.
[ Tauren ] Those moments … and bringing more visibility to the diverse audience. I can’ t off the top of my head say the number of categories, but there’ s a ton of categories and only a few of them because of how TV works, only a few have the opportunity to be showcased on the main stage. But they do a great job in the ceremony that happens prior to what’ s televised to shine a light on some of the other genres that are often hidden jewels in the midst of the music community. I always love that as well. it?” What is your response to that?
[ Tauren ] Well, the first thing I say is nondenominational. The next thing I say is a Christian church. And then I say one where we love people, preach the Bible, and believe in the power of the Holy Spirit.
And those are kind of identifying characteristics for us to let people know what they’ re getting into. And then if the conversation moves beyond the past, that’ s kind of like when the Queen of Sheba went to visit Solomon; it says that she looked at how the people were dressed and the joy that the servants carried and the wisdom of Solomon. And the Bible says that the translation is that it“ took her breath away.” see the joy and the excellence, and they hear the wisdom of the truth of God, and they’ re like,“ What have I been missing? This is beautiful.”
And that’ s really a big part of the heart of the album. I hope that this album is a just recapturing of the beauty of the church for people to behold and that when they see it, it takes their breath away. When they hear it, it takes their breath away like,“ Wow, what God has been building is somehow wildly imperfect and yet still absolutely beautiful.”
