JESUS CULTURE Send The Fire; Live From London
CITYALIGHT Hear The Hallelujahs Roar and forever and that He is ever present in our worship when we call on His name.
Marie Welch lends her smoky alto in the intense and vertically focused,“ No One Like The Lord / Is He Worthy” blends the two well-known songs seamlessly. You can feel the energy in the room as the Lord moves within His people, and they sing with reckless abandon. 1. O God Would You Move / Awake My Soul 2. Let The People Sing 3. Send The Fire 4. My Vision 5. Worthy Of It All Moment 6. Glorify Thy Name / Let It Rain 7. Give Me Jesus / Blood Of Christ 8. No One Like The Lord / Is He Worthy 9. Hallelujah Jesus Saves
California based Jesus Culture has been a staple of modern worship music in the states for decades, but twenty years ago, they also began leading conferences and leadership gatherings across the pond in the U. K. Through these gatherings, God ignited a deep desire within the leadership of Jesus Culture to help lead a revival in Europe, so they kept going back and were amazed at how God was using their ministry to change hearts and lives so far from home. Their newest release, Send The Fire; Live From London is a collection of worship from their latest worship conference recorded in May of this year at St. Paul’ s Hammersmith in London.
“ O God Would You Move / Awake My Soul” is a thumping opener where keyboard and guitar hooks abound in this hopeful song about how God’ s power is the same yesterday, today
A few other great combinations of songs here include“ My Vision” in which Lindsey Aracaro lends her angelic soprano to this gorgeous re-working of the classic hymn,“ Be Thou My Vision” and“ Glorify Thy Name / Let It Rain” led by Amy Dolley which takes us back to the 80’ s with this modernized version of the classic Donna Atkins song.
The title track borrows its theme and general lyrical content from William Booth’ s classic hymn by the same name. This moving prayer is a passionate plea for God to bring revival and significant spiritual renewal to His people on earth while reminding the listener that we play a significant role in announcing His Kingdom through our lives.
I really enjoyed a lot of what this album had to offer. There are some great moments of deep personal and corporate worship here. The mix is spot on throughout and they did a great job of crafting some fresh musical moments by mixing hymns and other wellknown songs to create a worship environment that has something for everyone. Lyrically, there were some ho-hum moments and I think they missed a few opportunities to dig deeper into a specific scripture base but ultimately this is a great collection from JC.
1. Hear The Hallelujahs Roar 2. My Labour Is Not In Vain 3. We Too Have Overcome 4. He Will Be 5. All To Honour Jesus
CityAlight is the worship ministry at St. Paul’ s Castle hill in Sydney, Australia. The worship collective made up of leaders, writers and musicians from St. Paul’ s have been making quite a splash in the CCM worship world recently with their robust Biblical lyrics, simple melodies and easy-to-play songs of worship meant for the local church. Their five song EP, Hear The Hallelujahs Roar, was released in February of this year with a thematic focus pointing the worshiper to God’ s never-ending faithfulness and mercy.
The title track launches the EP appropriately with its high energy guitar licks, driving drums and fervent praise led by Johnny Robinson as we are reminded about the triumphant return of Jesus that is coming soon.
“ My Labour Is Not In Vain” follows as the musical energy dips a bit in this hymn-like anthem calling believers to remain in Christ in all things while also pointing out that everything we do in the name of Jesus has an impact.
