CANYON HILLS WORSHIP Your Church
Released August 2024
I love worship songs that come directly out of a local church ! Canyon Hills Worship hails from Canyon Hills Community Church in Seattle , WA . This new record is full of singable lyric that is grounded in Scripture .
These are all congregational songs .
From the first measure of the first song , I knew this would make my top list this month . The sound is relevant and approachable . The first song to grab my attention was “ Such A Good God ” starting with a great acoustic groove and building to powerful and moving electric guitar moments . This is a chorus that your people will be singing over and over as they are walking through Walmart later in the day ! I love the dynamic range in this song .
Now , I ’ m a guitar guy . I enjoy keys and drums , but what holds my attention is a great guitar sound . “ The Lamb ” starts out with a really nice electric melodic hook . Grounded in Philippians 2:10-11 , this song leads us directly to the cross of Christ , “ The only One Who ’ s holy / The only One Who ’ s worthy .”
Drawing from Psalm 23 “ Surely ” is another to take note of and another chorus that folks will keep on singing through their week . “ Surely goodness , surely mercy / Surely kindness will follow me will follow me .” A mid-tempo song at 74BPM , this can setup a very meditative or prayerful moment .

INFLUENCE MUSIC Day & Night – Live at Influence Church
Released August 23 , 2024
With powerful music sounding from Influence Church in Anaheim Hills , California , Influence Music is batting 1000 with these eight tracks on this latest record . Tight grooves , powerful rhythms , and honest lyric that is sure to connect with a wide audience is what you ’ ll find when you spin this one up .
Influence Music has a core group of five
members who are known for their collaborations with other artists . For instance , you ’ ll hear Jonathan Traylor singing three songs (“ All In ,” “ Make Me New ,” and “ From the Inside Out ”) on this latest work . I just love the lyric on “ Make Me New ” … In whatever You do / Don ’ t just make me better / Lord make me new .
I love high-energy songs like “ All In ,” but for some reasons the mid-tempo songs like , “ They Always Do ” are the first ones I hit repeat on … this one for me was the chorus lyric , “ So I will praise with songs of thanksgiving / I will sing with a humbled heart / I will stand in awe as the promise You ’ ve spoken comes true / They always do .”
Jonathan Traylor covered a blast from the past with “ From the Inside Out .” Wow ! Such a great song ! When ’ s the last time you included it in your setlist ? Here it is with a new melody hook in the interlude to freshen it up for a new season . Check it out and drop it into your September planning !
Looking for a new four-on-the-floor opener to get worship flowing ? Check out “ House of God ”. “ Whoa , turn ashes into life , turn broken to beautiful / Redeemer , Restorer , Rebuilder , nothing ’ s impossible / Turn darkness into light and mountains to miracles / Redeemer , Restorer , Rebuilder , nothing ’ s impossible .” I can dig this one !
