But then I took that several months later into a room with a couple friends and we wrote the second verse and we wrote the bridge together , and we really formed the song together . So that was super beneficial . A lot of times that ’ s kind of what it ’ s like for me , I ’ m getting an idea started and then I ’ m oftentimes I ’ m really asking the Lord , “ Who should I write this with ?” And I ’ m thinking about creatively all the different people I ’ ve written with and all the different unique ways they ’ re gifted to write , who would be a good person to take this idea to ? Who do I think could really help me finish this ? A lot of times it ’ s like that .

That ’ s amazing ”. Collaboration is so helpful . There ’ s something beautiful about writing songs by yourself . I ’ m not opposed to it . I think that I want to challenge myself to do it a little bit more this next season . But collaboration is so great , just having other people help you , just understanding that everyone has great ideas , and all the great ideas don ’ t stop with you .
Just understanding going into a room and being excited about what other people think , excited about what other people see , perspectives they have , revelations they have of Jesus . I mean , there ’ s so many facets to God that I can ’ t even begin to wrap my head around every single facet of who God is . But people bring in these different facets , different experiences , and that really does add to what ’ s happening in the songs .

[ Cody ] We love our church . We ’ ve been there since the beginning . I remember when it was 12 people in our pastor ’ s basement . We were just coming together and worshiping , this small
