Perhaps we find ourselves asking , “ Will people enjoy what I make ?” Perhaps we fear rejection . Isn ’ t it easier or “ safer ” to just follow what is “ trending ?” Maybe ? But maybe not . It begs the question : what is our motivation for creativity ? Why do we create ? Anything less than art that flows from the heart unto God will fall well short of fulfillment and true purpose and will quite possibly lead to creative burnout . The greater risk is compromising . Authenticity is always 100 % worth it .
So , my encouragement to any creative reading this article : dare to create wholeheartedly . Make your focus Jesus . Invite the Holy Spirit into your creative process . Pursue wholeness in your relationship with God and intimacy with Him — it will undeniably overflow into the art you make . And be the artist God has made you to be ! Your voice is important . Your testimony matters . We will all be blessed because you choose to take the road of authenticity . Let ’ s spur one another on in the journey .
