1960 ’ s Gibson Falcon Tube Amp – Has a footswitch to activate both the tremolo and reverb . Wow , this vintage amp sounds great and it is my goto . Light weight too .
Crate Vintage Club 30 Amp – A slew of tubes , a heavy amp to carry . Some call these the “ poor man ’ s Vox ”. I may actually sell this one , as I really am covered well with the Gibson amp for my purposes .
PEDAL BOARD ( DON ’ T JUDGE ME WORSHIP GUITAR PLAYERS ) Now in the magazine I see all of the different well-crafted pedal boards being profiled and they are a tour-de-force of current artsy-pedals that I do admire . That noted , I have a very simplistic approach to my own needs . Again , I am getting a really good sound with the Gibson amp , but I do like to juice the signal at times .
Here you go in order of signal flow … > Peterson Strobe Stomp Tuner > Vox Wah Wah pedal ( an older one ) > BBE Opto Stomp Optical Compressor
( a few years old now but I like it ) > Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer from the 80 ’ s
( yes , that one :) > Jet Revelation Reverb Standard V2.0 Purple
The sounds of this first-rate reverb are all over several of my songs already , this pedal is a winner in my book . This is the only “ modern ” pedal I own .
SYNTH ATTACK … A CHILD OF THE 70 ’ S Keep in mind I grew up with the birth of progressive rock where blazing guitar solos blended with fat analog synth lead attacks . Groups like Emerson , Lake & Palmer , Yes , Kansas , Boston and the Who utilized synths in key roles in their music .
Now in modern worship music warm analog synth pads , sampled pianos , strings of all sorts and quirky arpeggios all play a part in what the popular worship bands are playing … all on their synth keyboards or triggering them from their laptops .
