kinds of things when you start saying them are
so powerful. So, this song, even though it’s so
fun, it captures a lot. And there is praise at the
end, which is really fun. It’s one of my favorite
songs for sure.
[WM] Is there anything else that you would like
to tell us about the album or any of the songs?
[Chris] No, I think we covered it, I love telling the
story of how it came to be, it was just a surprise
record and wasn’t anything I was looking for.
I think that’s the story I love telling, because it
wasn’t a master plan, it just happened. I feel like
as the river was going, the current was going,
and I was just trying to get in the river and get in
the current where it was taking me. And I think
thirteen or fourteen records in it’s pretty special
to feel something like that and to do something
I’ve never done before.
[WM] In closing I’m going to ask you a
question that I’ve only asked one other Texan
now living in Tennessee. If you could import real
barbeque from any Texas establishment, what
barbeque would you choose?
[Chris] That’s a great question. I’m pretty
simple, and I love Rudy’s Barbeque. They
started in San Antonio, now it’s in Austin,
now it’s kind of franchising all over Texas. But
man do I miss Rudy’s. It’s the sauce, to me in
Texas they do the brisket so well in so many
places, they’ve got it down. It’s the sauce, and
Rudy’s sauce, it has all that spice in it, it’s so
good. Right now, you’re making me so hungry
thinking about Rudy’s Barbeque. (laughing)
[WM] Thank you Chris! May this project reach
and impact many lives that would normally not
hear songs like these.
[Chris] Thank you, I appreciate it.
