outputs 1 and 2 available on both XLR and TRS. Three monitor groups allow configurations ranging from conventional mono and stereo monitoring through 7.1.4 immersive setups.
Perhaps the biggest practical departure from older ISA hardware is remote control. All eight microphone preamps can be operated from the front panel or Focusrite Control 2. Gain, routing, monitoring, Auto Gain, and the analog tone functions can all be managed without reaching for the rack.
Auto Gain can establish levels across all eight preamps simultaneously. In a worship environment, where volunteers, musicians, arrangements, and microphone positions can change quickly, that can save real session time. It provides a fast starting point while still leaving the engineer free to refine levels manually.
IN THE WORSHIP STUDIO The strongest argument for the ISA C8X is not any single specification. It is the way the pieces fit together.
A worship production room often has to function as a songwriting room, overdub studio, live-recording system, editing suite, and mix room. The C8X is unusually well suited to that reality.
For vocals, the ISA channels provide enough gain to handle demanding microphones without automatically requiring an inline booster, while the transformer, impedance choices, Console mode, and 430 Air circuit give you meaningful options before conversion. For acoustic guitar, you can decide whether the instrument needs to remain natural or sit forward in a dense worship arrangement.
Bass and guitar players also get two front-panel instrument inputs routed through the Lundahl transformer circuitry. Instrument impedance can be switched between 400k ohms and
1.2 megohms, another detail that can make a practical difference with passive pickups.
The remaining six preamps make it possible to move from overdubbing to a genuine multi-microphone session without changing interfaces. That is where the C8X begins to feel less like a premium two-channel front end attached to an interface and more like a studio centerpiece.
SOFTWARE The ISA C8X ships with Focusrite’ s Hitmaker Expansion package, including Brainworx bx _ console Focusrite SC, which models the ISA 110 and 130 modules from the original Focusrite Studio Console, along with Sonnox Oxford Reverb and other production tools.
FINAL THOUGHTS At a current U. S. list price of $ 2,299.99, the ISA C8X is not aimed at the musician simply looking for the least expensive way to put
