going to be okay. If this is my hard...” I don’ t know. Does that make sense what I’ m saying?
[ WM ] Oh, absolutely.“ Owe You Everything” is a beautiful song prayer. Would you tell us about that please?
[ Abbie ] Yes. We just wanted to write a song of thanksgiving to God, of ultimately even the things that I can offer Him, even a thank you, even whatever offering I bring, it all came from Him. It’ s the scripture of it’ s all from Him and it’ s through Him and it’ s back to Him. It’ s like the cycle from glory to glory. It comes from Him, it’ s given to us, and through Him and through us, it’ s given back to Him. So that was kind of the heart of it. It was just like,“ How do we write a song that captures that sentiment of,“ God, my whole life, every single thing I could offer you, I will. And not because it’ s even mine to give, but because it was yours that you gave to me as a gift and offer it back to you.” So yeah, I love that song. I wouldn’ t say that this album is necessarily a worship album. I’ m probably not going to lead all of these songs in a worship set.
[ WM ] Oh yeah, I picked up on that. So, let’ s talk about the song“ Ways of God”, because that song video shows the Airstream and the setup outside, which is very cool. Talk about that.
[ Abbie ] Yeah. We did a music video out in front of the Airstream. Yeah, that was the last single. We released a couple singles before the album came out. that song, that’ s one of the wordiest songs I’ ve maybe ever written. It has seven verses or something crazy. Yeah, we wrote that and we wrote it in the Airstream with a bunch of friends, and it was one that just kind of unfolded. We sat down and we just started talking about how cool God is in kind of a more poetic way. We talk about if you look at the wings of a butterfly or the look in my daughter’ s eyes, those are blessed assurances that you are mine talking to God. And so the verses just kind of explore like,“ Oh my God, what a wonder. What a wonder to walk with God. He’ s so wonderful.” So yeah, I mean, that song, it’ s been really cool to see the kind of feedback we’ ve gotten on just how different people are connecting with it. I feel like because of how much is covered in the verses, just talking about the nature of God. I wasn’ t even meaning for this to happen, but it’ s been cool to see the different parts of the song that people have latched onto and been ministered to through.
