PAT BARRETT I’ ve Got a Fire effortlessly above the upright piano intro. The chorus is filled with singable melodies and more melodic hooks than a tackle box. This song is Sunday morning ready right out of the box.
ZACH WILLIAMS Jesus Loves
“ I’ ve Got a Fire” follows and is a driving energetic rocker about the saving power of the blood of Christ that inspires us to dance and celebrate who we are in Jesus. I could picture an entire Sunday morning crowd all jumping up and down smiling from ear to ear as they sing this fun anthem of praise. 1. Praise The Lord Forever 2. I’ ve Got a Fire 3. All This in a Name 4. Count On You 5. My Father’ s Business 6. The Wrestle 7. Trust 8. Stories 9. Always On Time 10. Wonderful Counselor 11. Hard Part of a Dream
Pat Barrett is one of those guys who just keeps churning out great worship albums over and over again. First signed by Chris Tomlin’ s Bowyer and Bow records back in 2018, Pat Barrett has written or co-written such Sunday morning classics as“ Build My Life”,“ God Is So Good( You Are Worthy)”,“ Better” and a host of other well-known worship songs. His latest fulllength release, I’ ve Got A Fire features 11 new tracks written with a bit of a different palate than previous albums. Barrett wanted this release to be more fun and energetic, celebrating what it means to live a life redeemed by the Savior while also showcasing times of tender introspection and personal worship. I’ ve Got a Fire accomplishes both very well.
“ Praise The Lord Forever” jumpstarts the album perfectly with its vertically pointed lyric that floats
There is definitely a central theme of learning to trust the promises of Jesus and live accordingly that weaves its way through many of the tracks on this latest release.“ The Wrestle” uses the story of Jacob wrestling with God in Genesis 32 to focus on how God allows hard things to happen in our lives so that we can realize just how much we need Him and that in the end all things work out for those who put their trust in the Lord.“ Trust” has a similar story to share but uses Proverbs 3:6 to remind God’ s people that their trust in the Lord will not be in vain.
“ All This In A Name” takes a bit of a left turn musically with electronic drums and keyboard loops that serve as the background for this hope-infused pop anthem about the power of the name of Jesus and“ Hard Part of a Dream” is a humble prayer that reminds us all that not everything works out the way we think it should but through every high and low in our lives, our God walks with us through it all.
I have been a fan of Pat Barrett for a while, but this might be his best collection. He always writes great songs but Barrett’ s voice shines throughout this entire album and I couldn’ t wait to hear the next track when I first listened through it. He sings with passion, humility and complete spiritual abandon on every track and it’ s obvious that he poured a lot of himself into this wonderful project.
1. Jesus Loves 2. Paradise 3. I Killed a Man 4. Wait For Me 5. Friend In High Places 6. Hated 7. Story Of My Life 8. The Potter( Nothing Is Wasted) 9. Say A Prayer 10. Hello Hallelujah 11. Thank You 12. Church Kids
There are few artists in the CCM world who have risen to the top faster than Zach Williams. It seemed just yesterday that the southern rocker from Pensacola, Fl. was a fresh face in the Christian music world and here he is just a few years later known as one of the best song writers and performers in the business. From“ Chain Breaker” to“ Rescue Story” to“ Old Church Choir”, many of Zach Williams’ songs are birthed out of his personal story of how God rescued him out of the darkest parts of life and his latest collection, Jesus Loves continues this trend with 12 new tracks.
Williams brings his gritty country rock vibe to such great tracks as“ Paradise” which also features a rich southern gospel type choir as he confidently sings of the future in heaven that
