The blood is still the blood and the King still the King. And that’ s what I’ m pointing to for people in this record.
[ WM ] This record has really meant a lot to me, especially following my healing from stage 4 cancer. When I started listening down to the tracks, I just thought, my goodness! What impact this has! Marketing has a term called clutter. A good example is when you walk down the cereal aisle at the grocery store. That’ s called market clutter. Everything is fighting for attention. Every color is fighting for your attention on the cereal boxes. And really to be truthful, a lot in music industry is that way. And certainly, worship is not unaffected by this. There’ s clutter. But your record breaks through the clutter. And so, I was very pleased with all of that.

[ WM ]“ Jesus Saves” is such a great remembrance for us all. I love this song because we sometimes forget where we came from, don’ t we? Your lyric,“ I remember where I was,” rang so true to me. For me it was the Billy Graham Crusade in 1969, in Anaheim, California. I love the overtones of Gospel Music, particularly the bridge where you sing,“ He did what I could not do.” I think that’ s going to be sung in a lot of AME churches.
[ Chris ] Come on. Jesus saves. I mean, that just says it so plainly, right? It says it so simply. Just those two words, it says so simply. And that line you brought out,“ He did what I could not do.” I’ ve tried to write that in so many songs. I’ ve literally had that song in many songs in the past, that lyric and it hasn’ t landed right. And I finally figured out a way to land it. And I’ ve always loved that simple, simple phrase. He did what I could not do. It is very simple, but it’ s very true. My friend Max Lucado says it so well.
