PHENYX PRO PAS-227X AND PAS-225X ANTENNA COMBINER SYSTEMS | Mitch Bohannon
Are you in a large church? Small church? Oddly shaped temporary space? Do you have a massive budget or barely a budget? Well, this is for all ya’ ll. Please read on.
For many years, I never considered purchasing an antenna combiner mostly because what little budget money( tithe money, let’ s not forget that) that I had allocated to worship and tech was already stretched too thin. So, I would often move receiver or transmitter bases closer to the source, out in the open so that there would be a clean“ line-of-sight” connection. today it does. It just looks messy and then if there were an issue, there is zero chance the tech guys could address it during service.
I recently saw a sound guy that I follow online post about this Phenyx Pro system and in it I saw an easy solution that would not cost more than the wireless systems we are using! The PAS-227X just recently came out. This is the antenna combiner for IEM transmitters and
will work with any brand operating with a UHF signal. The system comes in a travel case, making it a fantastic setup for portable churches or remote spaces. The combiner is a half-rack size, but I have it sitting on top of my IEM rack box. It comes with a 10’ antenna extension and a short stand to mount the antenna paddle on top of your workspace.
In-ear monitors only have one antenna
That can work in churches that don’ t mind equipment out and visible. Well, it can work if you decide to make it work. In fact, I recently did that. I just moved to a new worship leading position in a small church, and we had some interference issues with wireless equipment, so I just moved the units to the platform and re-patched everything. Cool? Well, no. It was a big eye sore and I was pretty embarrassed about how it looked. Twenty years ago, maybe it would not have mattered so much to me, but 124 October 2025 Subscribe for Free...
