I had the chance to sit down with Oscar Garza, Product Manager at PreSonus, to get a deeper look at the new Quantum HD 8. We talked about the evolution of the Quantum line, the collaboration with Fender, and how re-amping unlocks new creative possibilities for musicians and producers alike.
[ WM ] Oscar, thank you for joining us. Let’ s start with a big-picture overview. How does the new Quantum HD 8 series build on PreSonus’ almost thirty years of audio interface design?
[ Oscar Daniel Garza ] Thanks, Steve and yes, as you pointed out PreSonus has been building interfaces for a long time, and like any product line, we’ ve evolved with technology. The Quantum HD 8 represents our effort to deliver the very best interface we’ ve ever built.
PreSonus has always been known for offering a solid value proposition, but with the Quantum HD 8, we wanted to make sure that“ value” also means uncompromising quality. This series is about proving that you can get both— rocksolid performance and professional specs— without cutting corners.
[ WM ] I have to say, I was able to set up the Quantum HD 8 without even opening the manual.
[ Oscar ] That’ s exactly the goal. Our mantra is simple: it has to sound great first and foremost, but it also has to look like it sounds great, and it needs to be easy to use. We’ ve paid a lot of attention to industrial design, workflow, and the user experience, so all three of those pieces come together in the Quantum HD 8.
[ WM ] I understand that the Quantum is open architecture, so it works with any DAW, but I
