RainSong guitars were the first totally Carbon Fiber constructed Acoustic / Electric guitars . The origin of the guitar line was a Dr . John Decker who was a plasma physicist and guitarist living in Maui , Hawaii . After seeing a guitarist getting rained on at a wedding event , he decided to develop an instrument that was impervious to rain and the elements . The instrument that Worship Musician received for review is the CO WS1000N2 Acoustic / Electric model which is part of RainSong ’ s Updated Concert Series . They also offer a Black Ice line ( all Carbon Fiber ) and the Nashville and Vintage series , which merge a Spruce top with Carbon Fiber build .
The early production Windsong model was the basis for the RaingSong WS body shape and was the first guitar with the Projection Tuned Layering process first introduced in 1999 . On the new CO- WS1000N2 the main feature that I noticed that was different is the satin neck which feels more natural and is very fast to play .
The Black Burst finish is evident on all sides
