My guitar does not travel separately from me under any circumstances . Even though we have a technical team that sometimes keeps things in hotel storage , or the gear goes earlier to the event . My guitar is always with me in my room , in the car , on the bus , or even on a plane . I never check it . It always goes in the overhead compartment or the front closet of the plane . Because only I know the sentimental value this has for me .
As for basic care , I always have small tools with me that help me keep my guitar tuned , so every time I arrive in a new country I check the neck , I make sure I always have new strings and reserve strings . You ’ ve seen the T-shirt that says , “ Love one woman and many guitars ”. I try to treat BOTH with mutual respect and care . When we talk about quality , brand and model , I still don ’ t have guitar endorsements , but I ’ ve had offers . One of the reasons why I declined them was the fact that I didn ’ t trust the durability of these instruments . So , I try to keep a standard of guitars made in the USA - brands like : Gibson , Fender , PRS that I know I will find , spare replacement parts anywhere and also models such as : Les Paul , Stratocaster and Telecaster , which are easily accessible for minor adjustments . Another important factor is investing in a good bag which will protect
against moisture and bumps . I just toured it comes to practicality on the road , due to size Africa with my Gibson and Steinberger in a dual and weight . This way I can make life easier for gig bag . my guitar tech .
