new melodies written around the Lord ’ s Prayer and it ’ s one of the longer songs on the album . It ’ s really designed to create space for people to pray . And we talk about the secret place in this song . Jesus says , “ When you pray , go into a room and close the door behind you and pray in secret . And what the father sees in secret , He will bless .” And so we talk about that . One of my favorite scriptures in Psalms is that God bends to listen when we pray . I just love that picture .
[ WM ] That ’ s great .
[ Cody ] When we pray , it ’ s not these prayers that just go up to the ceiling and they don ’ t go any further , God is actually bending to listen . He longs to hear those prayers . And we talk about that in this song . But I think it ’ s a really beautiful rendition of the Lord ’ s Prayer and my wife is singing with me and she ’ s amazing obviously . And that was a really special moment that we got to lead together on this night . And I really hope that it helps people remember the power of the secret place and gives space to pray .

[ WM ] Excellent . That ’ s great . Well , back to the subject of God being good , I know that He has said yes to me so many times that I must assume that when He has said no , it ’ s for a pretty good reason .
[ Cody ] That ’ s so good . I love that !
[ WM ] And the song called “ Precious ”. Wow ! What can you tell us about it ?
[ Cody ] I love singing about the blood of Jesus , I feel like we don ’ t do it quite enough anymore . And so , there ’ s just so much power in it . This song is really … it ’ s a song of thankfulness , gratefulness . The Bible says to enter His gates with thanksgiving and as a worship leader , I ’ ve recognized just the power of really to start a moment in the presence of God , to get into the presence of God , you must start with thankfulness . This song has this moment , “ All that my heart can say is thank you . Thank you for the blood .” The chorus is , “ How marvelous , how wonderful , how precious is the blood . It washes me . What a miracle ? How precious is the blood .”
And the bridge is my favorite part because the song really goes from this sweet kind of intimate soaring melodies to it kind of turns a corner in the bridge and becomes this really energetic , engaging celebratory kind of moment with choir that just says , “ I get to live with you forever . Oh , what a miracle ? We ’ ll spend eternity together . Oh , what a miracle ?” So just this celebration that the power and the blood that Jesus has saved us . and all the joy and the hope that comes with that for eternity and the fact that it ’ s a gift to us , we didn ’ t do anything to earn this gift of salvation and freedom , but Jesus purchased it with his blood .
[ WM ] Amen . Well , speaking of the blood , the song “ Ain ’ t Nobody ” is very much gospelesque in its stylings .
[ Cody ] Definitely .
[ WM ] But you ’ ve also recorded “ The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power ” by the great Andraé Crouch .
[ Cody ] Yes , sir .
[ WM ] I was incredibly fortunate to know Andraé .
[ Cody ] Wow !
[ WM ] And I toured with him in 1977 as his drummer .
[ Cody ] Wow . Oh , no way . I love that .
[ WM ] And so the song must have had some impact on you for you to record it . What can you tell us about it ?
[ Cody ] It has . I ’ ll say that I ’ ve had multiple
