30 DAY TECHNIQUE TUNEUP CHALLENGE | Doug Doppler
Hello guitar players ! I wanted to take a moment and invite you to the free series of daily lessons I ’ m doing this month , all designed to help you take your technique and mastery of the instrument to another level . While the lesson content is not worship-focused , it is designed to address the challenges that pretty much all guitar players face as they continue to develop their gift .
A number of the exercises were inspired by things that my teacher , Joe Satriani taught me .
In addition to teaching at Joe ’ s G4 Experience guitar camps , I also have the privilege of teaching at Steve Vai and John Petrucci ’ s camps as well . Although those camps are focused on some rather technically gifted musicians , the players who attend are always interested in knowing more than just how to play the latest riffs from their favorite guitarists . While you may not be whipping out two-hand tapping licks on Sunday , many of the underlying techniques ( like left-right hand synchronization ) are things that many guitar players want some
input on . I ’ m also a big proponent of knowing the notes on the fingerboard so you … wait for it … know the notes on the fingerboard . With all that in mind , I ’ ve cherry picked some lessons for you …
We still have another couple of weeks to go , so I cordially invite you to join me at https :// YouTube . com / DougDoppler
DAY 1 In addition to featuring one of my favorite exercises for building picking synchronization , this lesson features my go to suggestions on how maximize your practice time and how to use the ‘ subdivision ’ method to supercharge your results .
DAY 2 Legato is the term most people use when describing playing the 3 Note Per String Modes using hammer-ons and pull-offs . This lesson is designed to help you build your legato skills and also incorporates some palm muting .
