[ Kari ] This is another special song for me . All of them are ! Coming out of my last album season going into this live project has definitely had some challenges . The journey that I have been on since my previous album has just been special and authentic . “ Your Nature ” is a song that comes from the fruit of walking through and overcoming intense fear . A few years ago , when my sister lost her baby , I didn ’ t realize how much fear gripped me during that time and how it was affecting me . Just a fear of something traumatic that could possibly happen to my family . For others maybe it ’ s not fear , but a disappointment of having to go through something extremely difficult that you might not understand . God is always going to turn it for good . But there is still the experience of walking through it and a waiting period . But trusting that His nature is good and that He will make something beautiful come from it helps so much . song is called “ Let the Light In ”. I remember you and Cody introducing this song at the Worship Together Conference this past January here in Tennessee . What can you tell us about this one ?
[ Kari ] Cody wrote this song a while back for his album and I have just loved it so much ever since ! I believe it ’ s such a strong prophetic declaration right now in a season where things have felt dark and disappointing . God is the King and He is strong and mighty . He is the great light . It ’ s time to open the windows in a spiritual sense and let His light shine in and make the darkness flee . It is also just such a fun and life-giving song to lead !
[ WM ] You have got to feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment with this new album . There are so many moving parts in the creation of an album , and a live recording at that during the Covid19 pandemic would only be more complicated . What are your hopes for this project ?
[ Kari ] My hopes and prayers for this project are that throughout this album , the person experiencing the music and live videos would continually find themselves in the middle of an encounter with the presence of God . No matter what we are going through , God is for you !
