ourselves in in 2020 .
There is a story of Jesus . He is still an infant , and the Bible says that King Herod dies . But the throne gets occupied by Herod ’ s son , and he ’ s even more evil than Herod was . So , Joseph , Mary , and Jesus fled to Egypt . They thought they were going to go back to Bethlehem , but the angel told them , “ Don ’ t go back to Bethlehem , you need to go to Nazareth .” So , Jesus couldn ’ t go back to where He was , but He was able to get to where He was supposed to be . The scripture says that He had to go to Nazareth to fulfill what the prophets said , that “ He would be called a Nazarene ”.
In 2020 what I really feel that God has placed on my heart is that we ’ re never going to be able to go back to where we were , but we are still going to arrive at where God has purposed us to be . 2020 has stripped a lot of things away from us and has revealed the core of our priorities . It has exposed the frantic pace at which we have lived our lives . We ’ ve discovered what ’ s essential and what ’ s extra . I ’ m hoping to encourage people that we ’ re not going back to “ normal ”, we ’ re not going back to the world pre-Covid , but we are going to get to where God has purposed us . This isn ’ t over , so let ’ s stand up , shake it off , and let ’ s keep moving .
[ WM ] Great answer ! Can you tell us about your new video release , “ Famous For ( I Believe )” with Jenn Johnson and Christine D ’ Clario ? It ’ s an exciting bilingual worship experience filmed at Lakewood Church in Houston just before the virus hit . I hear that you ’ re going to be performing this on the TBN ’ s Dove Awards show on October 25 th along with some special guests .
Famous For
[ Tauren ] I ’ m super excited for the song “ Famous For ”, I think it ’ s one of those songs that God just pulled off the shelf in heaven and delivered it to us in the year 2020 because He knew that we would need it . I think a lot of us are going through things , and of course it ’ s not a literal Red Sea and we ’ re not in the lion ’ s den like Daniel was , but we are walking through a Red Sea of uncertainty , and we are surrounded by negative voices which are polarizing and destructive in many ways . It ’ s that heart cry that says , “ God I ’ ve heard of your fame , I ’ ve heard of your deeds , but I want to see them again in our day ”. And I think that ’ s the heart of our generation , we don ’ t just want what we ’ ve heard about , we want our own experiences with God .
The crazy thing about how God ’ s kingdom works is , if you want those experiences with God sometimes you have to go through some difficult things . To know that he can part a Red Sea you have to be standing in front of it . To know that He can close the mouths of lions
