It’ s a small way to inject a bit of light back into the equation and an alternative to the content usually expected on social media. The responses have been surprisingly heartfelt and positive.
[ WM ] How has your faith influenced your life and music?
[ Nathan ] My faith has and continues to guide me through the ever-changing currents and challenges of both music and life. It’ s my internal compass, like a spiritual GPS that helps me stay grounded and choose the right path no matter what’ s happening around me.
[ WM ] Your first signature model Yamaha bass guitar was released in 2001. What Yamaha basses are your go to instruments now in studio and on tour? upright in the mix, all fantastic instruments that give me the versatility I need for different musical settings.
[ WM ] Are there any new Yamaha instrument releases or other music gear coming out soon?
[ Nathan ] I’ m currently in discussions with Yamaha about developing a new custom bass with specs still to be determined. This year I also released a new signature bass amplifier with Laney called the DB-EAST. It’ s a 1000- watt amp with two inputs and dual direct outputs, perfect for players who use multiple instruments. It’ s been a real game changer for me, and I highly recommend it!
[ WM ] Nathan many of our readers play bass for the worship music at their home church. Any bass advice for these fellow bassists?
Remember that your role is to serve the music and bless as many people as possible with the gift God gave you.
