Junior “ JET ” Thomason ’ s Jet Pedals company understands worship guitar players and their needs . His team consists of worship guys who know personally what works for us . I was excited to check out the new Eternity Delay pedal . I enjoyed the Revelation Pedal I bought at a NAMM show a few years back . Its small form factor is pedalboard friendly , and the colored knobs make it easy to get around on . This Eternity Delay has the same form factor , and studio-quality sound that I love .
OUT OF THE BOX : The Eternity Delay comes wrapped in bubble wrap with a QR code sticker to access the manual . There ’ s also a one-page quick start guide , a JET pedals sticker , and a medium guitar pick . On the top surface are four knobs labeled MIX , RPTS , FILTER , and CNTRL 1 . A three-way switch between quarter , dottedeight , or straight eighth-note subdivisions is in the middle . Below are two footswitches with LED indicators Tap and Bypass . The stereo in and out is on the sides , and the 9vDC jack is on the right . The back has a ¼ inch MIDI input . Eternity Delay has six studio-grade algorithms : Tape , Digital , Analog , Dual Delay , ESD ( Echo | Slap | Doubler ), and the JET Signature - Slap / Analog Dual . It also has six onboard presets and up to 127 via MIDI . Every parameter on the pedal is controllable with MIDI CC commands . There are three main global settings : Live mode , Preset Mode , and Kill Dry mode .
Kill Dry mode lets only the delayed signal come through the pedal . Great for use in a switcher environment like Wet / Dry / Wet or for a stereo analog studio insert . They did a fantastic job with the in / out options . You can use any combination of mono / stereo ins & outs . The Tap tempo is unique in that it mathematically averages out the four or so taps to start your delay right on the beat with fantastic accuracy .
The Eternity Delay has a unique LED multicolor knob scheme that affects the Algorithms and Presets . The RPTS knob doubles as the Algorithm setting and is organized by individual colors . Light Blue / Tape Delay , Green / Digital Delay , Yellow / Analog Delay , Red / Dual Delay , Pink / ESD Delay ( Echo , Slap , Doubler ), and lastly White / JRD ( JET Signature Rhythm Delay ).
The Presets also have the same color scheme : Light Blue / 1 , Green / 2 , Yellow / 3 , Red / 4 , Pink / 5 , and White / 6 .
IN USE : For this review , I spent way too much time with this pedal . I even added my own training wheel stickers to remind myself how the knobs work . I won ’ t need them eventually , but I think they look fantastic . The sound of the pedal makes it one of the best around . Each Algorithm has a unique and fat musical sound . Let ’ s talk a little about the presets . Each preset has a stereo width of about , I ’ d guess , about a 30-millisecond spread that is beautiful and
