Additionally , will anything be changing outside the sound system that may affect its performance , such as revisions to the worship music style or rearranged seating ? Finally , will the new system address future needs , as envisioned by leadership , for the next decade ?
Third , the new system must be implemented correctly with proper rigging and materials . Flying heavy cabinets over the congregation is no place to save money . Safety is the single , overriding factor in any installation . Care must be made to use certified , rated hardware at each point and plenum cable used in spaces without sealed HVAC ductwork . Hiring a professional to fly the rig is the only wise choice , even if the staff believes they can handle the project due simply to the fact , if something does go wrong , bearing the burden of guilt is too high a price to pay to save a few dollars .
Fourth , realize the installation will take longer than anticipated and will result in additional costs as unforeseen obstacles appear when drywall is removed to reveal an unknown brick wall or when the needed power circuits are not up to code and must be redone . Given these facts , it is imperative leadership does not declare a “ go live ” date before the work has begun . Too often , a Christmas or Easter launch date is mandated which then causes the project to be short served as the date becomes more important than the product . It is better to launch when the project is complete and right than to squeeze it into a predetermined date . Once the installation is compromised , its legacy will always be one of frustration .
