we have a lot of campus locations . Every campus location has a full band . That would be drums , electric guitar , bass , acoustic guitar , and a musical director , usually playing piano and triggering the tracks . And then what we would call our frontline singers , that ' s anywhere from five to seven singers . Our church is a systems church . We ' re known for the way that we can create a system and then duplicate that system for success across campuses .
So , the goal is for anyone to go to any Church of the Highlands location , and have the same great experience at one location they would at any of the other 23 locations . The system that was created to help that used to be called The Infuse Program , but now the name has simply changed to The Development Program . It ' s basically an onboarding system for us , for our musicians .
You can say , " Hey , I ' m interested in joining the team ", and then we do a basic test audition .
We ' re not looking for amazement , we ' re just looking for aptitude to grow into a participant in a service . And then we put you into a process that could take upwards of a year . It ' s very simple . You come in on a Thursday evening and you have two songs that you learn . And then each position , guitar , drums , bass , vocals , all have a coach .
You play the song and then the coach coaches you up and then you go do the song again . And you coach , coach , coach , coach , coach . And that happens every Thursday until the coach identifies you as a potential graduate . And then once you ' ve graduated the program , then we ' ll start scheduling you for services . It ' s been very successful for us . I think our pre-COVID musician numbers were around a thousand musicians ! That ' s vocalists and instrumentalists . And it ' s been a very successful model for us .
[ WM ] So . it ' s obviously on a rotational basis with your team members , correct ?
[ Chris ] Yes . At each campus you would hope that you would have two or three deep at any position , and you could put them on a monthly rotational basis . You could play every week . You could play once or twice a month .
[ WM ] So let ' s say you are a drummer , and you want to audition . Would you audition one drummer at a time , or would you have a day where maybe 10 drummers would come in or whatever ?
[ Chris ] Well , the development is happening at each campus . Let ' s say you are interested in playing at our Montgomery Campus . You would go on a Thursday night . And that would just depend on how many drummers at that time were going through the development process . I have a 16-year-old son . He is actively in a development process right now , as a drummer at one of our campuses . And so , right now , he is the only drummer on Thursday night . So , he ' s getting all the reps . But if there
