The ‘ Keith Richards ’ Strat well , so as soon as Dunlop came up with that I had to have it . I actually helped them back in the day develop the little switch on that back that says “ vintage ” on it I believe . That wasn ’ t on the original model , they sent me the original one , and I made a couple of suggestions , and the next thing you know that button was on there .
My guitar tech Dustin Sears actually makes an incredible version of the Uni-Vibe called Sir Henry . He was part of a company called Vibro that did a really authentic looking , smaller housing and everything . They parted ways and now he ’ s got Sir Henry . Absolutely the closest thing you can get to the real deal , true to the original design on the inside , the light bulb and everything , it ’ s like you can ’ t have that sound without that light bulb . He ’ s real anal about things , so I suggest if you can get your hands on one of those - it ’ s definitely worth plugging into .
[ WM ] The AnalogMan King of Tone is a killer pedal . I remember seeing one of the Experience Hendrix tours , and virtually every player had one on their board , yourself included ! How did you connect with Mike and that box ?
[ Kenny ] Analog Mike ’ s and my relationship goes way back to the beginning of this
AnalogMan King of Tone and Ibanez Tube Screamers company . Back in the day my I was breaking Tube Screamers right and left . I had the original TS808 that I loved . Anyway , when they were doing the TS9 reissues , he would take those and modify them to sound like a TS808 . They weren ’ t as rugged as they needed to be , so he came up with a mod to make them stand up to road duty . So there was a KWS series of modified Tube Screamers that you could get . So , we go way back , that ’ s the original birth of our relationship .
The King of Tone pedal came out in the early 2000 ’ s . I was running a TS808 and a TS9 because they sounded slightly different and you could combine the two and get some qualities with both of them that you couldn ’ t get from either one of them individually . Then people started coming up with housings with two independent circuits in one housing , which was cool , so that piqued my interest from the get go . He was like , it ’ s not really a Tube Screamer . Some people were comparing it to
