sound as it was stored. Using Stomp Mode allows you to call up the same bank 1 / patch 1 and then control that patch as if it were a pedal board with which you can store and control four options … 1. Create 1-4 scenes( effect combinations) of the chosen patch, 2. Control tap-tempo, 3. Toggle between volume and expression pedal, and 4. Bypass the unit. Switching back and forth between Patch Mode and Stomp Mode is easily done with a long press on switch # 4. You can modify which effects are within a patch and you can adjust parameters within each effect. Just remember to click“ save” in the top right of the screen before powering down! Of course it has a tuner. A long press on # 3 will get you there. Full color, easy to read, and fast response makes a great tuner.
As I was playing around with the software, I opened Ableton to record … actually I was expecting to come out of the Ampero II and into my interface. However, Ableton recognized the pedal as an input source, so I was able to record straight into Ableton which was super simple.
This pedal as tested has an MSRP of $ 599. Overall, I’ m quite impressed with the Ampero II from its build quality to functionality and the incredible GUI … to the sound- which I would say is the most important. It’ s intuitive enough that I could have it on platform for rotating guitar players and I would not have to do much explaining for them to be comfortable navigating and creating.
