The C. F. Martin company has created many iconic acoustic guitars in their extensive history that have become the foundations for most forms of modern music. The Martin D35 may not fall into the best-selling category for the company but the HD-35 is, and the instrument was first released in 1965. After this article you might reconsider your position on the D-35, and I certainly have after reviewing it. The iconic 3-piece back on the guitar was initiated originally due to how scarce and precious Brazilian rosewood was at that time. For 2025 Martin is giving their standard series of guitars a refresh with some interesting updates for players. I have personally owned a few D-35s over the years, but I never connected with them like I have D-28s and D-18s. But, the new D-35 has me rethinking this model since Worship Musician received one for review.
