Taylor guitars originally made their name , back when Bob Taylor launched the company in 1974 , on a forward-thinking neck to body attachment system for an acoustic and beautiful stage appropriate woods and finishes . But in recent years the California based company has placed more emphasis on the use of sustainable woods and more entry and intermediate level instruments . Making Taylor instruments more accessible to players that could only dream of them before . This trend can be seen in their Academy line of instruments also .
Now Taylor is expanding what was once their entry level 100 Series guitars with the new Grand Pacific 117e model . When Taylor offered to send this instrument to [ WM ] Worship Musician for review , I honestly wasn ’ t that excited for its arrival . As guitar players and reviewers , we get spoiled with some of these over-the-top instruments and start thinking that is the norm , when in actually none of us started
