All that to say , the POD brand has a lot of legs and it was really smart of Line 6 to revisit the name with POD Go . The POD Go delivers the same Helix sounds of its older siblings with a few less bells and whistles . The combination of ease of use , Helix tones , and built-in wireless makes POD Go Wireless a really smart buy for the right end user .
WHO IT ’ S FOR AND WHY The singular difference between POD Go and POD Go Wireless is the built-in wireless functionality and bundled G10II transmitter . If you already have a wireless system , you might be better off by saving the $ 100 that separates POD Go ($ 479.99 MAP ) and POD Go Wireless ($ 579.99 ). If on the other hand you ’ ve been wanting to check out wireless , you do have the advantage of saving $ 79 over buying the G10II Wireless system ($ 179.99 MAP ). Just keep in mind that since the receiver is built into the chassis , you can ’ t use the wireless on its own . over from the POD HD500 is a great deep editor . That said , the display is actually bigger than on Helix floor which is actually a big deal when it comes to programming from the face of the unit . I ’ m a deep editor fanatic since my POD HD500 days , and the size of the display and ease of use made customizing and creating presets easier than on Helix , ideal for the newly indoctrinated

Another feature that I love is the Amp Out jack which can be configured to either feed your entire signal ( mono ) or take a tap before a cab block to run into an amp , preferably using the power amp in to bypass the pre-amp section .
THE WRAP Whether you ’ re looking to jump into the modeling game or are looking for a great Helixflavored fly-rig with a built-in expression pedal and wireless , the POD Go Wireless is a great choice

With that said , for the extra $ 100 , the Helix tones and built-in wireless make for a great fly rig or first dive into the modeling world . While it doesn ’ t have all the I / O that Helix does ( like XLR outputs ) the dual balanced quarter-inch outputs are a totally legit way to get out of the box and into the P . A . or your DAW if you opt not to use the unit as a USB audio interface .
FEATURE COMFORT While you might not get all the I / O of Helix , you do get a ton of the great feature comforts that Helix has to offer . Toggling between Preset , Snapshot , and Stomp modes is as easy as a few button / footswitch presses . Another carry
