NOT JUST ANY UPDATE !
Back in the day when I worked for Contemporary Christian Music Magazine ( CCM as it is still known and active ), besides the monthly fanzine they used to also publish an industry minded smaller circulation publication called The CCM Update . It would cover news items that pertained to the Christian music labels and release dates of new album projects etc .
It was a timely piece that came out in between the regular monthly magazine issues . I have been thinking for the last while now how I might be able to put our own spin on this novel idea . [ WM ] Worship Musician magazine has a good group of zealous opt-in subscribers ( 50,000 folks – you may be one of them – thank you !). Our monthly all-digital magazine blasts out to not only our subscriber ’ s , but through our Distributor Collective ( Worship Together , MultiTracks , OnSong , Loop Community , CCLI , FILO and others ) we send to a much larger group of 2,500,000 email in-boxes . How cool is that ?
What I have found through analytics however is something significant about our very own 50,000 subscribers , you are a very attentive group ( zealots even ) to the content we produce each month . With all that is happening in new worship music releases and gear announcements each and every week - there is a genuine need for a shorter newsletter format - in between the monthly large-scale magazine . Thus , I am announcing the WM Update “ The News You Can Use ” targeting worship records / music video releases and musical / audio equipment industry news - designed in a concise fast paced newsletter format .
As publisher ( and editor ) I am privy to a lot of industry breaking news every day , and I will compile the items I believe you would want to be aware of in records , video performances
and gear announcements . The more you know the better your choices will be … “ the news you can use ”.
