or conference or other things that we ’ ve done this year . It ’ s like creating room so that you ’ re not just here to work . You ’ re not just here to pour in and pour in . We want you to be able to absorb and then invite your friends and just add a healthy aspect to the whole thing .
[ WM ] Good stuff . Well , as we ’ re going to close , and I just want to say , what would you like to say about the relationship that you have with each other and collectively with the teaching pastors at Mosaic Hollywood ? Obviously Mariah , I know about you .
[ Carlos ] We ’ re really good friends , and I think that ’ s the foundation of a healthy , good relationship and to be able to do what we do creatively and spiritually . The foundation is that we care about each other deeply . And we also have the most phenomenal , incredible lead pastors . A lot of times you hear about churches where the people in charge limit what the people under them can do . In our case , we ’ re so blessed that we have a pastor that is constantly pressing on us to dream more , to risk more , to bring more ideas , to try new things , and to do things outside of the box . It ’ s super fun and also terrifying . We feel the pressure and the responsibility of not staying in the same place of keep elevating . And yeah , we ’ re all about the mission . We ’ re in the same mission , but at the end , we ’ re all about each other . They ’ re my best friends . None of us are doing this on our own . So that helps a ton for the hard part of ministry .
[ WM ] Excellent . Well , you can see it and you can hear it , so I applaud what you all are doing and how you treat each other , and that ’ s just wonderful to hear that you ’ re good friends and that people are not just showing up for a gig . Right ? It ’ s a true team .
[ Mariah ] We have a lot of fun . Probably more fun than we should sometimes , but we think it ’ s a lot of why what we do works is because there ’ s a lot of joy in it .
[ WM ] Mariah , it sounds like your dad gives you guys a long leash ,
[ Mariah ] I don ’ t know if we have a leash . ( all laughing ) We ’ re just walking together . He is so open-handed with things , and he is a dreamer . We ’ re lucky to be surrounded by dreamers , and so that ’ s what we get to do . We live in a land with no leashes . We get to run free and bring what we find to the table .
