With Warmdrive , you can hear right away what kind of guitar and pickup choice you ’ re using . This kind of sound is detailed and beautiful to me . For modern Worship , dialing in a sweet spot for those melody lines is easy . For example , I can get a Mayer Strat that naturally has a thinner but lovely vintage sound to cut through the mix nicely whereas I ’ d normally need a Gretsch or PRS with humbuckers . It makes for a nice character change . For more of a dirty solo tone , there ’ s plenty of sustain as the signal naturally compresses . It ’ s very touch sensitive , and dynamic . You can also really crunch it up for a big , thick , heavy foundation on a rock track . I particularly like the creamy smooth lead with medium levels of hair . I can dial in a not-to-bright ( yet authoritative ) sound that inspires me a lot . Lots of fun .
