the meat of the notes and distinct individuality of the instrument come through . Many pedals have a distinct signature voice , and that ’ s cool too . With Warmdrive , you can hear right away what kind of guitar and pickup choice you ’ re using . This kind of sound is detailed and beautiful to me . For modern Worship , dialing in a sweet spot for those melody lines is easy . For example , I can get a Mayer Strat that naturally has a thinner but lovely vintage sound to cut through the mix nicely whereas I ’ d normally need a Gretsch or PRS with humbuckers . It makes for a nice character change . For more of a dirty solo tone , there ’ s plenty of sustain as the signal naturally compresses . It ’ s very touch sensitive , and dynamic . You can also really crunch it up for a big , thick , heavy foundation on a rock track . I particularly like the creamy smooth lead with medium levels of hair . I can dial in a not-to-bright ( yet authoritative ) sound that inspires me a lot . Lots of fun .
MY TAKEAWAY : Warmdrive is a great-sounding pedal that ’ s easy to please . I typically use three distortion pedals on a pedalboard . Warmdrive could live in the solo spot or an overdrive rhythm spot perfectly . I also found it works well with the other pedals on my board . There aren ’ t any impedance issues . It ’ s a well-made pedal that should last for years . I think you will like how it handles melody lines and makes them speak … controlled aggressive tone . The price is friendly too .
