CAPO GUITAR
WORTHY ONE BY CLINE AND MO PITNEY | Mitch Bohannon
Have you ever been to the Grand Ole Opry or do you watch the show on Circle Network ? The Opry has been a family favorite for us for many years . Mo Pitney is an Opry regular whom we ’ ve enjoyed , and we had the opportunity to spend some time with him when his tour brought him through South Louisiana a while back .
Mo Pitney is one of the most humble and transparent people you could meet . He is very bold and direct when speaking of his faith and his trust in Jesus . I love it . And his music is as easy to connect with as his personality !
When I saw Mo ’ s post that he had partnered with CLINE in writing and recording a worship song , I waited anxiously for the release date . Being a song that ’ s perfect for the Easter season approaching , it was a great fit for this March issue of [ WM ] Worship Musician .
The recording is female-lead in the key of “ F #.” For me to lead the song , I would play it in the key of “ B .” So for this issue , I ’ ll post a Nashville Number chart and you can place it in whichever key fits your vocalist and congregation the best . For each of these keys , you ’ ll place the capos in the same position … Full Capo on fret 2 and Cut Capo on fret 4 . If you need to play in a higher or lower key , simply move the capos together up or down the fret board .
The song begins with soft keys and pads through the first verse . Leading on guitar , I would play fingerstyle in verse 1 to setup a more dynamic chorus . Verse 2 builds with a straight rhythm and into a bigger chorus and a driving bridge . It sounds great with a full band but could be equally effective with just guitar .
The lyrics to “ Worthy One ” are simple and memorable . I encourage you to pull out your guitar and give it a strum as you worship through this song .
