It was my privilege to sit down with Brent and marketer David Almgren , in order to discuss Jesus Revolution . The film is an outright smash hit , connecting many to something that really |

[ Brent McCorkle ] Thank you for this time . First of all , it actually brings me great comfort and peace to hear you say those words to me , because it ’ s important that we got it right . When I started , we called it “ The Roadshow ”, but we started pre-screening this movie all over the country , and I got a little bit nervous as we got closer and closer to Southern California , because I knew I was going to come face to face with people that were part of this time period . In Southern California . In Newport Beach . In Riverside . And I got to face them , and they were going to either walk up and say , “ You guys got this part right , but you messed this other part up ”. Overwhelmingly , I ’ ve been affirmed , you know , just like you did . You just affirmed me in this idea that it felt authentic and real , and like we captured the essence of the thing back in the day .
I wasn ’ t alive in 1969 . So as a director , and as a creative and as a filmmaker , it was very important for me to get that right . There was a bit of a nervousness . “ Will I get this right ?” I was going to work as hard as I could and get the whole team on it . You know , John ( Erwin , one of the screenwriters ) had this wonderful directive for us . He said , “ I just want it to feel like we dropped a camera into 1969 . We had to capture the essence of it all ”.

And man , it was a heavy weight on me , to hear Timothy Leary , and Greg ’ s ( Laurie ) Bible study feedback from you and from others that actually out in Riverside at the Episcopal church . I used lived in it , lived through it , and were a big part of to go out and play drums for that . And Corona it and to hear the positive , comments , it means Del Mar ’ s Pirates Cove was the perfect way to a lot to me . It makes me really have a lot of begin this film . I was baptized there in 1970 . gratitude in my heart that , that it feels authentic How was that decision made to begin the film to you guys there on the ground that lived it . this way ? So , thank you . That means a lot !
[ Brent ] Yes . Inside the film making apparatus , [ WM ] Yeah . And the locations ! Besides it became really apparent that we thought it ’ d Pirate ’ s Cove you had Laguna Canyon and be very special to go back and shoot the film
