what Jesus has done for us , and we see that He gave His life for us , how can we respond with anything else but then , " Take me because I surrender my entire life back to You because all I have is here "? And we always say , that is a worthy response .
[ WM ] Burn Bright includes 10 songs recorded live at this past Passion Conference in Atlanta , as well as 5 studio recordings . There are so many gifted songwriters and worship leaders that are part of this . I could imagine some hesitancy in the live event due to the uptick in Covid infections during the end of last year . There must have been quite a bit of prayer involved in hosting the event . Can you tell us about that ?
[ Melodie ] Quite a lot of prayer , I can definitely tell you that ! We never go into these events without prayer . We have an entire team that is devoted to interceding for students the entire time we are there . They never leave the intercession room , and they ' re constantly praying because they realize that life and death is at stake . It ' s about eternity , and whether students are going to meet Jesus and experience Him .
And so yes , our entire team went into a lot of prayer , and yes , we were grateful for that . There are 10 live songs , and 15 songs total on this album . And we ' re grateful because it ' s filled with all our friends , including Kari Jobe , Cody Carnes , Crowder , Sean Curran . I shouldn ' t have started naming people because I ' m going to forget people , but Kristian Stanfill , Younker , and many others .
All that I can say is that I love that it is a representation of God , and I think it goes to show that we all have our spot to take on the wall . And , we all have our spot to fill in the wall , and that ' s not just music related . That ' s just being God related . Even if you ' re not in music , we all have a part to play in the story of God , and a space on Earth where we ' re supposed to look around and say , " Hey , what can I do for the Kingdom of God ?"
For me , that is what this record represents . It ' s just this vision of God coming together to help take ground for the Kingdom , and to see the glory of God go throughout all the Earth . And so , it ' s a really special project .
[ WM ] I like the analogy of the wall . John Wimber used to say , " Everybody gets to play ." I mean , in a healthy church , in a healthy church movement , everybody does get to play . I must ask you about the preparations . Were the rehearsals done in Atlanta just prior to the event ? There must have been quite a bit of organization just for those !
