In our February issue of [ WM ], we had a
fabulous interview with Brooke Ligertwood ,
a long-time member of the Hillsong Worship
community . She has become one of the better
worship writers of our generation with such
favorites as “ Hosanna ”, “ Who You Say I Am ”
and the Grammy-winning " What a Beautiful
Name .” I believe she truly helped shape the
maturation of Hillsong in recent years with her
poetic and scriptural approach to song writing .
Her new full-length solo album , SEVEN , is her
seventh release as a solo artist , and it is full of
soaring melodies , authentic vocal delivery and
rich Biblical truths .

“ Honey from the Rocks " is co-penned with Mitch Wong and Brandon Lake and is one of the few up-tempo tunes on the album . This groovy southern rocker uses the experiences of the Israelites in the desert to reminds us that God always provides for His people .
“ Ancient Gates ” is a song of excited anticipation for the second coming of Jesus . Here Brooke calls believers to worship boldy whenever and wherever they are because Jesus loves to hear our worship . The four-on-the-floor kick drum and melodic loops will get your hands clapping in what is sure to be a great service opener for any Sunday morning .
The song getting the most radio play these days is “ A Thousand Hallelujah ’ s ” which she co-wrote with her husband , Scott Ligertwood , and Phil Wickham . Congregationally friendly melodies and vertically focused , this tune will be sung in churches all over the world and your church should definitely add this one to your Sunday setlist .
Brooke Ligertwood writes with depth and forethought and her delivery of these songs are sweet and honest . I would have liked one or two more upbeat tracks , but this is still a really good album .

Well , it is obvious to this reviewer what worship artists Shane and Shane have been doing during the pandemic … staying busy in the studio . The tireless duo have been cranking out multiple albums per year including the very ministry friendly Worship Initiative and Psalms , Hymns and Spiritual Songs in 2021 . They ’ re unique and timeless combination of tight harmonies , singable melodies and biblically based lyrics make Shane and Shane one of my all-time favorite worship groups .
Their first full-length album of 2022 entitled Worship in the Word features 10 new tracks each being intentionally written out of a piece of scripture and wrapped around powerful
