people would feel worried by , but that they would feel celebration by . Our Creator , our King , is going to come back and we ’ re all going to go home and it ’ s going to be amazing . And I think we did it , I ’ m really excited about it . It ’ s one of those songs that I ’ m very excited about , I don ’ t think I ’ ve been more excited about a song in my entire career , I ’ ve just been so fired up about it .
[ WM ] On a sobering note , your wife miscarried awhile back and you both experienced the loss of a child . The song , “ When I Say My Prayers ”, reflects that heartbreak and your observations from that experience . What has been the response to this song and what was your wife ’ s response when you first played it for her ?
[ Jordan ] The response for “ When I Say My Prayers ” has been huge . The song had a lot of weight to it from the day we wrote it . It just happens to be that the day we wrote the song , the producer got a text from his wife . We were on the bus in the back lounge . I don ’ t know where we were . My friend , a producer on the song , just kind of got real down . I asked him , “ Are you okay ?” And he said , “ I just got a text message from my wife . We just lost our baby ”. So , we all just kind of hunkered down , and we prayed over each other . I started talking about me and Jamie ’ s experience , and then we all started talking about the experiences that we had because we had all had that happen before , and that kind of started the process of writing it and we wrote it that day . It ’ s felt special ever since , and when it was released , it was crazy because I got so many people “ DM-ing ” me and writing me about prayers .
That day we had this demo of the song . Over the week that I was out on the road we honed it a little bit and it started sounding better , and that ’ s when I typically start showing Jamie songs because when it ’ s just a strict demo , she can ’ t really hear through it . She ’ ll say , “ It sounds good . I can ’ t really hear what you ’ re saying ” ( laughs ). So , I waited until the end of it and I showed it to her , and she was just so overcome with emotion about it . I think it was just all of the stuff that we talked about . It was all of the questions she was asking . It was all of the stuff that every wife feels whenever you ’ ve lost a child . We wanted to write it very specific to the miscarriage , but we also really wanted it to be a song of hope for anybody who has lost anyone . Obviously , we have a very personal connection to the meaning of the song , but we also didn ’ t want it to get so pinpointed that we would lose the hope Jesus promises for anybody who ’ s lost someone . Whether it ’ s a son or daughter a teenager or an adult , we didn ’ t want to lose that heart . Losing somebody is losing somebody ,

[ WM ] Thanks for telling me that . Like so many others , you ’ ve been unable to tour due to Covid19 . I see that your calendar for 2021 is starting to fill up . It must be so exciting to have your touring to look forward to ! Tell us about the plans for touring your new release .
[ Jordan ] I am so excited that we have some shows coming into fruition . It ’ s such a weird time because there are shows that are coming in and there are also shows that had already come in that are going away . So , it ’ s really hard to plan , but it does give us a lot of hope to see people trying . Over the last year no one was trying , but I think now people are at a point where we feel like we ’ ve got to live our lives . We can ’ t just sit in our houses forever . We just can ’ t do that . People are losing their homes and
