It would stand to reason that if you are reading this magazine to begin with chances are that you are aware of the presence of reverb in this genre of Praise and Worship music – especially with guitars . Reverb is typically used to create a sense of space and distance on an instrument or voice in a mix but when it comes to guitar in Praise and Worship it has almost become an expected element of the sound . There are many players in the game offering the massive sounds of rack and studio reverb units in pedalboardfriendly boxes . With loads of presets and MIDI capability to access them all , it ’ s easy to see why so many would have one of these units on their pedalboards . I personally have tried , owned and implemented many of them into rigs of mine in the past and I love them ! For some players though there are a couple factors preventing them from utilizing these units - size and cost . Enter the JET Pedals Revelation Reverb V2.0 .
Being in ministry the word ‘ vision ’ is one I use often when gathering the proverbial ‘ why ’ behind the proverbial ‘ what ’. I asked Junior , the founder and designer at JET , what their vision was . “ Our vision at JET Pedals is to equip the worship community with the tools necessary to bring others into worship to our God . Our mindset has always had a strong focus on technology with the end result being a simple , yet intuitive , piece of hardware that is easy to use , provides high quality algorithms / circuits , saves precious pedalboard real estate , and gives the customer great value for their money .” I would say they nailed it !
There are three knobs , three algorithms , three on-board presets ( 125 accessible when using MIDI ), all under three bills , and it ’ s all stuffed into an enclosure smaller than an iPhone – without compromising the pristine and massive sounds the bigger boxes are known for . Junior made it happen with only one processor as well , which is normally cause for alarm in a reverb to most players . That typically means the user will not have trails when switching presets , but the genius of Junior Thomason found a way . “ You ' ll notice sometimes that the Preset LED will flash as you are switching between presets ,” explained Junior . “ What this means is that you ' ve just switched from a preset with a long decay to a preset with a shorter decay . While the LED is flashing , the Decay knob is automatically and slowly turning itself down to
